The Expectant Heart
A journey to expecting God's greatness over your life.
Dreams, desires, wants, thoughts, could be's, and what if's flood our minds like a whirlwind. If your anything like me some of these thoughts, dreams, and desires are so big so ridiculous that I often find myself questioning my capabilities. Too often I wonder if I'm just nuts. Like, what am I thinking? Who even thinks up stuff like this?
If you've ever dreamed big audacious dreams or thought crazy out of the box thoughts about what could be, then this post is for you.
What I say to you is… your not crazy. You are freaking awesome. You have been created for greatness and you need to chase down every dream and crazy thought in your head and heart. Your a dreamer on purpose, a visionary, an idea junkie by deign.
Your perfect. Not everyone will get you or understand the way your mind runs wild with thoughts about what could be but God does. He made you that way.
The problems that us dreamers sometimes struggle making things happen. We have a million and one ideas and we often feel stuck as to how to make any of them a reality. If that last statement is not for you, I'm sorry because it is 100% totally me. All. The. Way.
So how do we take our dreams from a random thought that we think about constantly to a reality?
1. Simple...We just do it!
I know, you have a million and one reasons as to why you can't. But, I'm here to tell you...YES YOU CAN!!!!
Yes you can. You. yes, you. You can do this. Whatever it is, you can do it. You may need a little help but you can do it. It may take time, but if you don't quit, you can do it.
So right now, grab a pen and paper or use the notes section in your phone and write down three next steps that you can take to move forward. I just made my own list that includes the following. 1. Watch three to four youtube videos (on my specific business of interest) 2. File state paperwork to start a new LLC (Hubs and I are starting a little side gig) 3. Write and schedule three blog post for next month with the purpose to inform educate and build a following. (Feed, feed, feed, hook!) All of these things can be done this week. Make sure your list is a realistic list of next steps that can be done right now. DO NOT WAIT! Just start now, you don’t have to know everything.
2. Do it well.
Research, study, understand your industry and your audience. No matter what your doing, do it to the very best of your ability. Once you’ve done this have someone better than you critique it and don't get your feelings hurt. It will only make you better.
Example: I always have someone with editing experience critique my work. Every blog, article and write up I do, I have someone better than me look over, edit and offer suggestions. It has grown me so much. I’m so thankful for them. You can barter services with others, pay a small fee, or just look for really close friends and family to help you out short term till you can make it up to them. But be awesome and bless them somehow for their time, expertise and willingness to help.
3. Believe in you!
It’s as simple as that. Believe that you can do what you have been called to do. Thats it, thats all!
4. Expect Gods greatness.
You didn't come up with these ideas on your own. You were created with a purpose and if you have something in your head and heart that you simply can't shake, you were more than likely meant to do it, try it, or learn from it. It may be something you do for a season or a lifetime. Nonetheless, expect Gods greatness and expect His promises for you in every area of your life. Speak them, believe them and experience them. Then help someone else do the very same thing.
You have everything that it takes to do everything that you were created to do. You may have to learn some of it, you may have to be patient, you may have to invest or go through seasons of trusting and waiting, but just do the next best thing and see what happens.
Just move, do, go and opportunities will begin to unfold before your very eyes.
Gods already moved, could it be that He's just waiting for you to?
You've got this my friends. I believe in you now, go get 'em!
